How to Locate Data or Materials Missing From Prospector

Q: What can I do if I can´t find a specific material that should be in Prospector like ABS Dow Magnum 3416? 
A: You can contact IDES anytime for assistance in tracking down a missing grade. (Note: This customer had a datasheet in hand within 5 minutes of contacting IDES)

Features Data in Prospector

Q: Are the features based on statements from the suppliers’ data sheets or limits put on measured values?
A: All data, including features, is provided directly to IDES by the supplier. Features like ‘heat resistant’ are general statements from the material supplier and generally do not correspond to any measured value.

Are Resin Manufacturers Required to Reveal Additives Used?

Q: Are resin manufacturers required to divulge additives used? 
A: At IDES we have 3 full time employees and 2 interns solely focused on tracking down all the data available on every plastic material in Prospector. While we do our best to provide additive data where applicable there is no industry standard that requires this information to be reported on material datasheets. However, IDES is more than happy to help you find any additional information you need on any plastic material - just contact us.

Looking for a copolymer PP with MFR=100.

Question:

As per required by my client, I'm looking to find a copolymer PP with MFR=100. Please feel free to share the information with me if you have idea of it. Thanks.

Answer:

There are 9 materials in our database that are Polypropylene Copolymers with a Melt-Mass Flow Rate of 100. This information can easily be located with our subscription-based service, the Property Search.

To locate the right material, you can start with the generic symbol of PP Copolymer. Then add in the MFR of 100, located in the Physical properties folder View this photo 

Now there is a reasonable list of results to review:

We have the base datasheet for Lexan EXL1414T, which is now manufactured by SABIC Innovative Plastics. The color will not affect the base properties.

This is a discontinued product line from Altuglas International. You can find their contact information on our manufacturers page.  We have 5 archived grades listed internally. If you need a specific datasheet, please don't hesitate to contact us!
