Requirements for Suppliers to be Included in Prospector
Q: What are requirements for suppliers to be included in the database?
A: Before adding a supplier to Prospector we first verify that their materials are a good fit for the database- they must be plastics. We then make sure they can provide enough data to make the addition of their materials useful to our customers. Once added we regularly crawl their website for changes and/or receive updates directly from an internal contact. Any changes are published on Thursday evening during our weekly update. To suggest a supplier that should be added to Prospector or add your company’s grades please contact Julia Weibel at weibelj@ides.com.

A: At IDES we have 3 full time employees and 2 interns solely focused on tracking down all the data available on every plastic material in Prospector. While we do our best to provide additive data where applicable there is no industry standard that requires this information to be reported on material datasheets. However, IDES is more than happy to help you find any additional information you need on any plastic material - just contact us.
