2 Easy Ways to Search for Plastic Materials by Filler Type

Prospector contains over 73,000 materials from 600 global resin suppliers.  Here are 2 quick ways to narrow down a search for materials by filler type:

Sequential Search:  To help you find the best material for your application, the Sequential Search provides 5 different properties to help you refine your search.  This tool is particularly helpful if you need to select a material based on filler content.

1) To get started choose a material type from the Generic Symbol search.
2) Locate your required filler type from the Filler/Reinforcement menu.

The screen capture below shows an example of a search for glass fiber reinforced ABS which returned 404 results.  You can further refine your search based on familiar product names, manufacturers, and the resin form.

Property Search:  To take the search for glass fiber reinforced ABS one step further use the Property Search and eliminate over 300 more grades.

1) Again, start with the Generic Symbol search to select only ABS materials.
2) Open up the %Filler/Reinforcement search and choose 'glass fiber reinforcement' from your list of filler types.

Once you choose your filler type you'll also be able to enter a maximum and minimum value to specify a range for your filler.

3) Input a range of 30%-40% and you have a list of only 88 grades.
