How to Search for Unfilled Plastic Materials

One of our advanced features in Prospector, the Property Search, not only allows you to search for materials with a percent % filler reinforcement specified, such as 30% glass filled, but it also allows you to search for unfilled materials. It’s a pretty simple search to do with the Property Search tool.

Filler_reinforcement First, you start in the Filler/Reinforcement folder. The only trick to this is that there are two types of filler folders, one that says “%Filler/Reinforcement” and one that just says “Filler/Reinforcement”. You’ll want to search in the folder that does not have the percent % sign. Once you click on the Filler/Reinforcement link, you’ll see an “Advanced Criteria” box. This box is the key to searching for unfilled materials. There is an option to select only the grades with no Filler/Reinforcement data specified. Go ahead and put a check mark in the box next to that option, and hit GO.

Now all the results you find within Prospector will be unfilled. You’ll want to make sure you further refine your search by using some of the other properties, such as Availability and Processing Method, because currently there are almost 50,000 plastics that are unfilled within our database.

You can keep building on top of this search by continuing to select properties. If you ever need help with a search, please don’t hesitate to contact us!
