You use Prospector all the time to help you select the best
material for new applications or find offsets fast. Here are 3 quick tips to help make Prospector even more effective.
Save and edit searches
You don't have time to rebuild your list of requirements every time you use the
Property Search. Try saving your search for future reference. You
can come back to it anytime for reference or to edit your requirements.
Once you're finished with your search, click on the 'save' link just above the
current search criteria table and name your list of properties for easy access
later.
Customize your
results table
Once you've come to the results table, why waste time opening up datasheets to
figure out if you really have the materials you need? You can customize the properties that display
in your results to ensure you see the information that matters most to you
every time you view a results set. Click
on the ‘Preferences’ menu in the grey tool bar at the top of the page and click
the link that says ‘edit my custom results’. You can choose a few properties that you would like to see on your
results table at all times.
Create a personal
list of materials
Now that you have a great list of materials to consider for your application
instead of printing out datasheets to spread all over your desk, why not save
that list in Prospector? Under the 'Tools' menu you'll find 'My
Materials' which will allow you to save a shorter list of materials for
consideration. You can create a My Materials list from any results table
and then make notes on any grade. This
is also a great way to keep track of quotes from suppliers!
