Finding Medical Bioplastics

The Prospector plastics search engine includes more than 82,000 plastic material datasheets from 790 global resin manufacturers. Of these materials, there are 2,466 approved for use in medical and healthcare applications. Additionally, several bioplastics within the database are available for medical use.

Several companies that are manufacturing bioplastics for medical use include ExxonMobil Chemical, SABIC Innovative Plastics, and NatureWorks. In total, there are 155 companies manufacturing bioplastic and biopolymer grades.
